What learners see

This applies to video screens from this tool and to videos in lesson steps from Scenario Setup or Guidance Setup.

Starting the video

  1. While the video loads, the screen says Loading the video...
  2. Then the video's preview picture appears, dimmed, with a large ► Play video button.
  3. Learners press Play video, or Play below the picture. The video starts with sound.

A video never starts by itself, so a lesson doesn't play sound unasked when a screen appears.

The controls

ControlWhat it does
Play / PauseStarts and stops the video.
RestartStarts the video from the beginning.
Mute / UnmuteSwitches the sound off and on.

The screen only shows the video. YouTube's logo, and for a moment a title or suggestions, can still appear: YouTube shows these in every embedded video.

Good to know

  • Videos are streamed from YouTube. The headset connects to YouTube and Google's video servers while playing, so Google receives data such as the headset's internet address. Check with your institution whether that's acceptable for your lesson.
