Translate with an AI chat assistant
Goal: let an AI chat assistant translate or reword the exported file.
The tool gives you ready-made instructions for the assistant. They tell it who reads the texts, to change only the texts and keep everything else, to keep labels and titles short, to keep technical terms, and to answer with the complete file only.
Steps
- Export the texts.
- In step 2 Export, press Copy the instructions.
- Open your AI chat assistant. Paste the instructions, and replace
[language]with the language you want, for example German. - Attach the exported file, or paste its content below the instructions.
- Save the assistant's answer as a new
.jsonfile. Keep the original export as well. - Read the answer before you import it. Check that the texts read well and that nothing is missing.
- Import the texts.
Good to know
- Assistants make mistakes. They may shorten, merge or leave out texts, or change other fields. The import reports broken entries as not found or without text and leaves those texts alone. An answer with words around the file (for example "Here is your translation:") is refused; delete those words and save again.
- Check your institution's rules before you paste lesson content into an online assistant.
- Longer texts. A translation can be longer than the original. The panels adjust, but a short button label may wrap onto two lines. Check the lesson in the headset after importing.
