Plan my lesson

The tool guides show you how to build a lesson. This page helps you decide what to build, before you open Unity.

Answer eight short questions about your goal, your learners and your equipment. You get:

  • your stages: which parts of the lesson happen in VR, in AR and on the real object;
  • your learning path: the order of steps that suits your goal;
  • tips that fit your answers, each with the reason it works and a link to the ALF guide that shows how;
  • a checklist to go through before learners try the lesson.
Your plan has its own link

Your answers are stored in the page address. Copy the link to come back later or to share the plan with a colleague. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Question 1 of 8

What should learners be able to do at the end?

Think of one sentence that starts with “Learners can…”.

How to use the plan

  1. Write the goal sentence first, on paper. The planner assumes you have one.
  2. Plan the steps on paper for each stage: what the learner reads, does and sees. See Scenario Setup: Plan the lesson first.
  3. Build with the tools, in the order of the introduction.
  4. Try it yourself in the headset, then with one learner, and go through the checklist.
A planner, not a rulebook

The tips are good defaults from learning research. You know your subject and your learners: if a tip doesn't fit, leave it out. The theory behind the guidelines explains where each recommendation comes from.
