Build XR lessons in Unity, one tool at a time

The ALF tools set up scenes, buttons, moving parts and lesson steps for you. Each guide is short and assumes no Unity experience.

Building a lesson, in order

  1. Create the scene

A new lesson scene in VR or AR, with the player already set up.

    Scene Generation

  2. Add what learners work with

Models, buttons, moving parts and machines that come apart.

Object Spawner, Button Injection, Kinematic Editor Tool, Exploded View

  3. Line it up with a real object

AR only: printed QR codes place the model on the real machine.

    Positioning Setup

  4. Build the lesson steps

Instructions, changes in the room, and how each step finishes.

    Scenario Setup, XR Pre-Training

  5. Add it to the start menu

One button per lesson, opening it with the right setup.

    Main Menu Setup

All tools

In Unity, every tool is in the top menu under ALF.

Creates a new lesson scene, in VR or AR, with the player set up.
Main Menu Setup
Builds the start menu, with one button per lesson.
Scenario Setup
Builds the lesson as a series of steps.

Planetary Lab
A falling-objects experiment on Earth, the Moon or Mars.
Electric Field
An electrostatics experiment with charges, field lines and a probe.
Mesh Deformation
A bending lab: how a beam bends and where it is under stress.
Positioning Setup
AR only: lines up a 3D model with a real object using QR codes.
Text Import & Export
Translate or reword all texts of a lesson in one file.
Utilities
Scene Check and Project Status: check the scene and project settings.
